Ingredients

Bread and Filling

  • 2 cans refrigerated Grands Flaky biscuits
  • 4 apples (granny smith and honeycrisp, 2 each)
  • 1 t lemon juice
  • ⅔ c brown sugar
  • ¼ c granulated sugar
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • ½ t nutmeg
  • ¼ t ground ginger
  • ¼ t allspice

Glaze

  • 1½ c powdered sugar
  • ¼ c half and half
  • 1 t vanilla

Instructions

  1. Step 1

Peel, core, and very finely dice apples. Juice lemon.

  2. Step 2

Add all filling ingredients (minus biscuits) to saucepan over medium heat. Cook ~8min, or until apples brown and soften, and the sauce thickens.

  3. Step 3

Using a paring knife, "fillet" each biscuit to make thinner rounds. Squish each round between hands to flatten them further.

  4. Step 4

Preheat oven 350F. Spray 9x5 loaf pan.

  5. Step 5

Spoon ~1 T of filling onto each biscuit, then stack 4 of these on top of each other. Arrange stacks in loaf pan vertically. Repeat until pan is full but not too packed as the biscuits will expand.

  6. Step 6

Cover with aluminum foil, bake 40 minutes. After 40, remove foil and bake until golden brown, check every 5 minutes.

  7. Step 7

Once removed, let loaf cool 5 minutes, then remove from pan. While resting, can make glaze by whisking powdered sugar and half and half. Add vanilla then whisk again. Drizzle liberally.
