Ingredients

  • 4¼ c whole milk
  • 2 T maizena/cornstarch
  • ~¾ c white sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, broken
  • 5 cloves
  • ¼-⅓ c white rum

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    In a sauce pot over medium low, add milk. Once warm, add cornstarch and whisk until there are no clumps. Cook ~10 minutes until warm/hot and beginning to simmer, stirring often to avoid scorching the bottom.

  2. Step

    Add sugar and white rum, stirring often. Cook ~5 minutes.

  3. Step

    Add vanilla extract, cinnamon sticks, cloves. Continue stirring, cook another 15-20 minutes until reduced by ~50%.

  4. Step

    Serve topped with ground cinnamon.
