Ingredients

Main Dish

  • 1 large head of broccoli, or 3 small
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • Sesame seeds

Slurry

  • ⅔ c soy sauce
  • ½ c chicken stock
  • ⅔ c honey
  • 2 T rice wine vinegar
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 T sesame oil
  • 1 t Sriracha
  • 1 t ground ginger
  • ⅔ t red pepper flakes
  • ⅔ c water
  • 1 T cornstarch

Cooking tips

7.5 heat, maybe 8. Large cast iron, smoking hot.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Very thinly slice flank steak across grain. Cut broccoli into bite sized florets.

  2. Step 2

    Create cornstarch slurry via water + cornstarch. Mix all slurry ingredients + cornstarch mix together.

  3. Step 3

    Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high (see notes). Saute steak, ~3-4 min. Flip once.

  4. Step 4

    Add broccoli and sauce. Cook ~3-4 min. Serve with rice, sesame seeds to top.
