Candied Pecans

Ingredients

  • ¼c white granulated sugar
  • ¼c light brown sugar
  • 2T butter
  • 2T water
  • ½t ground cinnamon
  • ¼ t salt
  • 2c pecan halves

Variations

Can vary flavor profiles. ½t cayenne (for spicy flavor) or chili powder (for smoky flavor), orange zest, vanilla extract, or sub some brown sugar for maple syrup.

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    Combine all glaze ingredients in medium saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Stir frequently until sugar is fully dissolved and light caramel forms, ~3-4 min.

  2. Step 2

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.

  3. Step 3

    Pour pecans into glaze, stir to coat fully. Spread pecans over the baking sheet, letting cool until solidified, ~10min. Break apart, store in airtight container.



To keep

Can keep at room temp in airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Or can store in fridge for 3 weeks.
