Cornbread
Ingredients
Dry
- 1 c yellow cornmeal
- 1 c flour
- ¼ c sugar
- 4 t baking powder
- ½ t salt
Wet
- 1 c milk
- 1 egg
- ¼ c oil
To bake
Can be baked in 8x8, 10" cast iron, or 9" pie pan, or muffins. If in cast-iron, preheat it in the oven as its warming up.
Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven 425F. Use a butter stick to prep coat baking container.

Stir together dry ingredients in one bowl. Whisk together wet ingredients in a second bowl.

Pour wet into dry, stir until everything is just moist. Avoid over stirring, its ok if there are lumps.

Pour batter into prepped dish, bake 20 min or until golden brown.

Step 5
To freeze, let cool completely first. Wrap each piece in wax paper, then store all in freezer bag. Can thaw at room temp or in microwave.
