Mexican Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 T vegetable oil
  • 1 c long grain white rice
  • 1 T onion powder
  • 1 T powdered chicken bouillion
  • 1½ t cumin
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1 t salt
  • pinch oregano
  • ⅓ c tomato sauce
  • 2 c warmed chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Step 1

    In heavy bottom pot, brown the rice in oil over medium heat. Then add the tomato sauce and spices. Cook for a short while before adding the warmed broth. Cover with lid, do NOT lift lid for 18 minutes.
