Tortellini with Sausage and Marscapone
Ingredients
- 1 pkg bulk spicy Italian sausage
- 4 garlic
- 1 shallot or small yellow onion
- ½ t red pepper flakes
- 2 c marinara
- ¼ c heavy cream
- ¼ c marscapone cheese
- 1 9oz pkg refrigerated tortellini
- salt and pepper, parmesan to taste
Instructions

Step 1
In 10-12" cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage until browned.

Cook tortellini according to directions. Save ~¼c pasta water.

Add onion, and cook briefly. Add garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant.

Step 4
Add the marinara, cream, and marscapone. Cook ~5-7 min until saucy.

Step 5
Add the tortellini to the sauce. Season with salt and pepper as needed, add pasta water as needed. Top with parmesan.
